Ambassador’s Inaugural Meeting

On Thursday Evening 3 November 2011, CatholicCare Social Services Parramatta (CCSS) held its inaugural meeting of Ambassadors.

The Parish Ambassadors were very excited to be part of this meeting and they were encouraged to hear of all the good work that is done through CatholicCare in the Parramatta Diocese.  All the Ambassadors who attended agreed that this meeting was valuable and that it was important to meet twice a year to continue to network with each other to share ideas  and keep informed of the diverse work done through CatholicCare.

Mr Otto Henfling (CCSS Executive Director), spoke of the name change from Centacare to CatholicCare and explained the new logo to the Ambassadors. Mr Henfling then shared about the variety of work done through CatholicCare in helping those who are marginalised, disadvantaged or in need.

The ambassador Program works toward building a strong relationship between CCSS and each Parish and other interest cluster groups such as the Diocesan Parent Representative Council (PRC).

The Ambassador’s role is primarily twofold:

1.       To promote the work of CCSS in their parish and local community and,

2.       To dialogue with CCSS about the local needs of each Parish in order to see how CCSS can partner with the local parish to help meet those needs.

CCSS aims to serve the community of the Catholic Diocese of Parramatta by overseeing the provision of high-quality social services operating according to the principles of Catholic Social Teaching. If you are interested in becoming an Ambassador for your Parish please Contact John Manouk on 99330222.
