CatholicCare Social Services is open to receiving applications for casual work for the following positions on an ongoing basis.
Residential Support Workers
Position status: Casual
Application closing date: Ongoing
Expressions of interests are sought for Casual Residential Workers (CRWs) within Catherine Villa Supported Accommodation Unit. CRWs are required for day, evening and sleepover night shifts on weekdays and weekends to support homeless young women and their children in a 24hr supported accommodation unit.
Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in social welfare, youth work, child care or related field.
- Knowledge of group work processes.
- Experience in providing empowering residential support.
- Good understanding of youth pregnancy and parenting issues.
- Knowledge of child care and child development.§ Knowledge of youth homelessness issues & the special healthcare needs of young mothers & their babies/children.
- Knowledge of Child Protection issues.
- Ability to contribute to the provision of adolescent - friendly living and baby care programs.
- Good knowledge of issues and services relevant to the client group.
- Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness and proven capacity to work in a team environment.
- Willingness and ability to work within the ethos and values of the Catholic Church.
- Knowledge of OH & S. requirements as they relate to the role.
- Current driver’s license.

Casual Relief Administrative Staff
Position status: Casual
Application closing date: Ongoing
Expressions of Interests are sought from people who are looking to work on a relief casual basis to cover unexpected absences such as sick and annual leave.
Selection Criteria
- Competence in Microsoft applications particularly Word, Excel and Access.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- A service orientated work ethic.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to work within the policies of CatholicCare Social Services.
Workers may be required to work at any of our locations (Parramatta, Blacktown, Penrith, Quakers Hill or Emerton).
Day time, evening and Saturday work may be required.

Disability Work - Community Support Worker
Position status: Casual
Application closing date: Ongoing
Expressions of interests are sought for casual Community Support Workers (CSWs) within Emmaus Disabled Persons Catholic Services. CSWs are required for evening and sleepover night shifts on weekdays and weekends as well as some day shifts on weekends to support adult men and women with intellectual disabilities in their group homes in the Blacktown/Hawkesbury areas.
Selection Criteria
- Certificate 3 or higher in Disability, Aged Care or Community Services.
- Experience in providing direct care.
- Skills in developing and monitoring programmes for adults with a disability.·
- Interest and proficiency in home management.
- Understanding of the Disability Services Act.
- A current NSW driver’s licence.
- A First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
The preferred applicants will be subject to a National Criminal History Record Check.

Volunteers Required
(Blacktown Neighbour Aid)
Catholic Social Services is seeking volunteers to work within Blacktown Neighbour Aid. Our Volunteers enjoy providing social support to individuals residing within the Blacktown area, who are frail aged, or younger people with a disability and socially isolated. If you are interested in making a connection with our people by giving 1 hour per week to enhance their independence and quality of life, we would love to hear from you.
